Rwanda has undergone significant land law reforms aimed at improving the security of tenure for rural communities. The analysis is based on a review of legislative changes and stakeholder consultations conducted by local NGOs and government agencies. While Rwanda's land reform efforts have been effective in increasing formal land registration, there is a need to address ongoing issues related to customary tenure and equitable access for all communities. Future reforms should prioritise inclusive consultation processes that consider the diverse needs of different ethnic groups and traditional land management systems.
