Instrument wheelset is widely used for measuring wheel-rail contact force of railway vehicle. In order to transfer strain signal of instrumented wheelset, slip rings are installed in the wheelset. For the purpose of reducing the workload and the time required when mounting the slip ring on instrumented wheelset, authors developed hassle-free slip ring. Overview of the stationary testing to evaluate the moisture resistance of the hassle-free slip ring and its results are described in this paper.
