Research in companies would be carried out not only by so-called in-house researchers, but also by all parties within the company and external experts. There is a lot of debate about whether in-house research laboratories are necessary or not. It seems best to have an in-house community of "researchers" who are looking a little further ahead. On the other hand, it seems ideal for business divisions to also have "researchers" who can delve deeply into the important issues at hand. Fluid engineering covers an extremely wide range of subjects. When establishing a fluid engineering laboratory in a company, it is important to consider the business domain and decide on the areas of expertise and the number of experts to be gathered. In the second half, some tips for researchers will be presented based on examples of the author's cavitation research.
