The authors have proposed redefined J-integral and J-integral range ΔJ and these parameters have been applied to finite strain elastoplastic crack propagation analysis using nodal release technique. However, since crack growth behavior in this method depends on the initial mesh geometry, it is difficult to represent complex crack front shapes, such as thumbnail-shaped crack fronts. To overcome this limitation, the authors are investigating a method to represent arbitrary crack growth behavior by updating the mesh through rezoning. In this paper, we present an application of the proposed method to a steady-state crack propagation problem.
