The increasing depletion of fossil fuel resources and rising global energy demand have intensified the need for clean and sustainable energy alternatives. Wind energy represents a reliable renewable option capable of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and lowering electricity generation costs. This study presents a simulation-based performance analysis of shrouded wind turbines under Iraqi climatic conditions. Numerical simulations were used to evaluate the aerodynamic behavior and power performance of the turbine. The results indicate that shrouded wind turbines can enhance energy capture and efficiency compared to conventional wind turbines, particularly under moderate wind conditions common in Iraq. The study highlights the potential of shrouded wind turbine technology as a viable solution for sustainable energy generation in the region.
