Does the presence of a coronary CTO or failure to revascularize a non-LAD CTO affect long-term mortality in patients undergoing CABG?
In patients undergoing CABG, neither the presence of a CTO nor the failure to bypass a non-LAD CTO independently worsens long-term outcomes.
Coronary CTOs are a common finding in patients referred for bypass surgery. The presence of a CTO is not independently associated with an adverse long-term outcome. While most CTOs are successfully bypassed, failure to revascularize a non-LAD CTO is not associated with adverse long-term outcome.
