This research aims to provide valuable insights into how information about PON 2024 is disseminated through social media and how the influence of various actors in social networks affects public perception. This research method uses social network analysis (SNA) to understand interaction patterns, the role of key actors (nodes) in information dissemination, network density, and the influence of subgroups (clusters) through social media data mining and communication network pattern analysis. Using social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok as units of analysis, data from various sources is collected to evaluate public interaction and the impact of sports tourism promotion. The data collected included 25,000 posts, 30,000 interactions, 12,000 nodes, and 10,000 edges from social media networks. The results of this study reveal the pattern of social media interaction related to sports tourism during the 2024 PON in Aceh and North Sumatra. SNA identifies key actors, analyzes network density, subgroup influences, and information dissemination patterns, and describes the dynamics of conversations and public opinion on social media. The findings of the study show that PON 2024 is trending on social media with public attention to sports tourism. Active user engagement and SNA identify the main nodes and subgroups of interactions and influence patterns. These findings are expected to provide valuable insights for stakeholders in designing more effective promotional strategies for major sporting events in the future and broaden understanding of social interactions in the digital age.
