Key Points

  • The aim is to investigate the dynamical properties of high-luminosity spiral galaxies using extended rotation curves.
  • Sample of 10 high-luminosity spiral galaxies (Sa through Sc)
  • Accurate rotation curves obtained
  • Curves extended to about 80% of de Vaucouleurs radii
  • Accurate rotation profiles developed for the sample galaxies
  • Revealed systematic trends across different galaxy types
  • Data support dynamical modeling of spiral galaxies

Abstract

For a sample of 10 high-luminosity spiral galaxies, Sa through Sc, we have obtained accurate rotation curves which extend to about 80% of the de Vaucouleurs radii.
