This research aims to investigate the role of HAO1 in ferroptosis regulation within liver cancer.
Examined the mechanism of HAO1 in liver cancer cells.
Analyzed the relationship between peroxisomal hydrogen peroxide and ferroptosis.
Utilized biochemical assays to measure reactive oxygen species levels.
HAO1 was found to significantly increase hydrogen peroxide levels.
Enhanced peroxisomal reactive oxygen species promoted ferroptosis.
Identified HAO1 as a potential target for liver cancer therapy.
Abstract
Our findings shed light on the key role of HAO1 in the peroxisome-mediated redox regulation of ferroptosis during liver cancer progression, providing a potential target for liver cancer treatment.
