Lay Summary In this retrospective cohort analysis, weight-loss medications GLP-1 RA drugs (Glucagon-like receptor 1 receptor agonist) were compared with weight-loss surgery in people with obesity and IBD. Patients using GLP-1’s had fewer blood clots, disease flares and surgeries, suggesting a safer, less invasive option.
