The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development comprises 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with a total of 169 targets. The interplay between technology and sustainability has become a central issue of our time. In an era of rapid technological advancement, reflecting on the role of both technology and technology education in achieving the SDGs is crucial. This study explores opportunities for integrating sustainable development into technology education by conducting a content analysis of the SDGs. The results indicate that relevant content for technology education is embedded throughout all SDGs, as each target includes one or more targets with dimension of technology. Further analysis identified that the targets with content for technology education encompass a wide range of aspects correlated with three key themes: well-being and safety, sustainable resource usage, and technological development and collaboration. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the interplay between sustainable development and school-based technology education and may have important implications for curriculum development, teacher training, and lesson planning.
