The Gulf Cooperation Council Countries have today become among the leading countries globally in seeking to benefit from renewable energy sources. This has driven them to develop numerous plans and strategies aimed at achieving a transition toward renewable energy alternatives, due to the significant harm caused by fossil fuels, in addition to their finite nature and the high global costs associated with their extraction, transportation, and conversion. These states seek to achieve energy security, maintain economic growth, and address environmental problems resulting from the increasing consumption of fossil energy sources by pursuing a policy of energy diversification and avoiding exclusive reliance on fossil fuels. The Gulf Cooperation Council Countries perceive renewable energy markets as offering significant investment opportunities. However, they vary in their levels of commitment and progress; while some have made tangible advancements in renewable energy projects, others are still working to overcome obstacles hindering their ability to invest in this sector.
