Abstract Background and aims: Basckground The main purpose of this study is to determine the role and significance of psychological support methods in stabilizing the psycho-emotional state, reducing psychological stress, and increasing the effectiveness of the rehabilitation process in patients experiencing acute ischemic stroke (AIS). In the early days after a stroke, patients often develop fear of death, anxiety about disability, emotional distress, depression, and decreased motivation. These factors negatively affect the dynamics of motor and cognitive recovery. Methods Research methods included clinical observation, assessment using the HADS and BDI scales, psychological interviews, stress-level evaluation tests, and a 14-day early psychotherapeutic intervention protocol conducted with 45 AIS patients. The psychocorrection program incorporated breathing regulation training, muscular relaxation, cognitive-motivational counseling, emotional support, and elements of family psychotherapy. Results According to the results, the group receiving early psychological rehabilitation demonstrated a 28–35% reduction in anxiety and depression scores, along with a significant improvement in motor activation and motivation to participate in rehabilitation activities. Conclusions In conclusion, timely initiation of psycho-emotional rehabilitation during the acute phase of AIS plays a crucial role in restoring emotional stability, accelerating recovery, and improving overall clinical outcomes.
