The 2026 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections marked a transformative phase in the political history of Tamil Nadu, characterized by increased youth participation, digital political communication, and the emergence of new political movements. This case study examines the relationship between political awareness and youth voting behaviour, with particular focus on the rise of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and its youth-centered digital mobilization strategies. The study analyzes the role of social media campaigns, digital volunteer networks, educational institutions, and political awareness initiatives in influencing first-time and young voters. It further explores challenges such as misinformation, political distrust, emotional voting behaviour, and voter apathy among youth populations. The study highlights the growing impact of technology-driven political communication in shaping democratic participation among younger generations in Tamil Nadu.
