Nigeria faces a dual crisis of chronic energy poverty and systemic youth unemployment. With approximately 70% of the population experiencing energy insecurity and a national grid capacity oscillating between 3,500 MW and 4,500 MW for a population of over 200 million, the transition to decentralized renewable energy (RE) is a socio economic imperative. This white paper provides a technical analysis of RE as a catalyst for youth empowerment, proposing a multi-layered framework that integrates Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) with digital literacy. By quantifying the technical potential of solar radiation in Nigeria and assessing the current training gaps, the study outlines a roadmap for producing a "Green Dividend" of skilled solar technicians and energy entrepreneurs. The findings suggest that investment in RE-based human capital can drive industrial national development while mitigating the environmental and health impacts of traditional energy sources.
