Triangulation is the use of multiple methods, theories, data and/or investigators in the study of a common phenomenon(a). The four types of triangulation, its benefits and some of the problems of implementation are discussed. The paper concludes that triangulation is not an end in itself; rather it is a vehicle for the conduct of a study that, when used appropriately, may produce very valuable results.
