The article provides an insight into the pedagogical approaches developed within a four-year school project in Denmark and South Africa. The overarching objective of this interdisciplinary and intercultural endeavour was to cultivate an artistic-educational milieu that fosters expression, creativity and imagination, thereby enabling participants to establish empathic connections with others and to attain a renewed understanding of themselves. By employing a distinctive, almost literary writing style, the authors adeptly depict the potential of cultural and arts education to engender spaces of hope during periods of crisis and conflict.
