This skills audit was conducted within the Corporate Services branch of the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure (DPWI) to support DPWI's commitment to developing a skilled and capable workforce. This initiative aligns with broader national directives aimed at professionalizing the public service, as highlighted in the State of the Nation Address (SONA) 2023 and the goals of the National Development Plan (NDP) 2030, as well as DPWI's own strategic objective of building a resilient, ethical, and capable organization (Outcome 1). The primary objective of this skills audit was to assess the current skills profile of Corporate Services staff, identify key skills gaps and training needs relative to the branch's mandate of providing enabling support functions (including HRM, ICT, Legal, Communications, Administration, Governance) and operational requirements, and provide recommendations for targeted skills development interventions. This audit focused on staff at the Middle Management Service (MMS) and Senior Management Service (SMS) levels within Corporate Services. The data was collected using a survey administered via an online platform between February and April 2025. The participation rate was 83% (57 out of 69 officials), ensuring the findings are robust and representative of the targeted cohort within the branch.
