This report delineates the principal findings obtained from the Skills Survey conducted within the Chief Directorate: National Water Resource Information Management (NWRIM) of the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS). This survey formed a component of a wider departmental skills audit programme focused on selected frontline service and infrastructure entities. Within the Chief Directorate: NWR Information Management, the survey targeted officials, primarily within the Middle Management Service (MMS) bands (Salary Levels 11 and 12) and the Senior Management Service (SMS), and was administered between December 2024 and March 2025. A total of 42 officials completed the survey from a directorate complement of 113, yielding a participant response rate of 37%. This rate presents a limitation to the analysis, which is acknowledged throughout this report.
