This paper covers the ways of developing reliability of the anti-corona protection of the turbo- and hydrogenerator windings, carried out at SPA "Elektrotyazhmash". The work has been performed by developing new, more stable semi-conductive materials for anti-corona protection layers and by improving anti-corona protection designs for slot parts and end turns of the stator windings. The ways and results of developing stable semi-conductive materials for low-resistance and high-resistance semi-conductive layers and the principles of creating reliable anti-corona protection design for the slot parts and end turns of high-voltage windings are also described. It is shown, that for high voltage generator windings with lower insulation thickness the anti-corona protection has to be reinforced and made more reliable.
