How accurate is left ventricular cine-angiocardiography in assessing the severity of mitral regurgitation in patients undergoing surgery?
This study aims to determine the accuracy and potential errors of left ventricular cine-angiocardiography in assessing mitral regurgitation severity among surgical patients.
Accurate clinical assessment of the severity of mitral regurgitation is often difficult, and left ven- tricular cine-angiocardiography is probably the most commonly used method of estimating it. It is therefore important to try to determine the accuracy of this method and to identify as far as possible any causes of error. We have attempted to do this in a series of 137 patients submitted to operation.
