Abstract Compiler Construction is one of the important areas in computer science. In the development of a programming language, translator construction is one important phase as computer understands the binary language. Panini’s Grammar and the various sutras enlighten the various phases in compiler construction like syntax analysis or parsing, semantic analysis. Panini grammar also provides the direction towards the development of compiler for context sensitive language. The application areas like natural language processing have an immense importance of panini grammar. The paper makes an attempt to discuss the panini grammar and its correlation and importance in the computer science especially for compiler construction. The paper also attempts to corelate the panini grammar with applications of modern computer science. The paper highlights the relevance of Indian Knowledge System in the moder computer science.
