Abstract

A renormalization group approach to two-dimensional bond percolation problems is developed using a scaling transformation in real space. A cluster calculation for the correlation-length exponent nu gives 1.28 for the triangular lattice and 1.31 for the square lattice in good agreement with recent series results of nu =1.34+or-0.02.
