The educationists have expended numerous attempts to promote, magnify and support an enhanced and more effective and efficient process of learning. Although various characteristics determine the eminence of education or learning results, one of them is closely related to the learning information centre. The problem in this research paper is the procedure to be adopted to increase the role of the Engineering College libraries as a learning information centre. A total number of 1640 respondents (1530 student, 99 faculty members & 11 Librarians) were selected randomly, and their responses were acquired through the help of a well-structured questionnaire. The survey method was utilised to collect the requisite data for the analysis. The result of the study demonstrates and elaborates innumerable traits of the awareness and use, purpose and frequency, level of satisfaction of users and problems faced by the users while utilization of library services. On the basis of the results, some suggestions have been contributed to make the library services more beneficial for the academic community of the Engineering College Libraries in J & K State.
