Presented on 19 May 2026: Session 2 Offshore gas operations often rely on conservative flow-assurance rules that protect integrity but constrain value. We present three offshore case studies where process digital twins were embedded into daily operations to manage hydrate risk, production losses, and emissions. In Case 1, real-time monoethylene glycol tracking cut inhibitor dosing by ~50% while maintaining hydrate protection, delivering US5 million savings. In Case 2, look-ahead ramp-up forecasting recovered ~60–65% of seasonal lost production (~1500 tonnes gas). In Case 3, cooldown and no-touch-time forecasting extended safe shutdown windows by ~50%, reducing depressurisation and flaring. To access the Oral Presentation click ‘Supplementary data’ below.
