First person – Ranran Mao

First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Ranran Mao is first author on ‘ Split GFP-based fluorescent biosensors detect ER–Golgi membrane contact dynamics’, published in JCS. Ranran is a PhD student in the lab of Jia-Jia Liu at the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, investigating the regulation and functions of membrane contact sites in central nervous system neurons.
