The radius of the diffusing object is determined from Mossbauer effect measurements on cobalt-57 chloride in glycerol and on cobalt-57 embedded in porphyrin and hemoglobin. It is shown that in the presence of large diffusion effects the massive molecules do not recoil independently. The recoil momentum is transmitted to the entire fluid mass. (C.E.S.)
