Coherent Field Architecture: A Multilevel Framework for Meaning-Resolution, Schema Revision, and Embodied Conscious Organization.

Key Points

  • Introduce Coherent Field Architecture (CFA) as a testable, multilevel framework for modeling how conscious meaning is organized, stabilized, and revised under embodied, social, and temporal constraints.
  • Developed a bounded open-systems conceptual model to resolve the organizer-input identification problem across physical, developmental, and social dimensions.
  • Defined operational constructs—including meaning-space, resolution integrity, organizational capacity, aperture, and correction ecology—for empirical validation and computational modeling.
  • Provides a structured architecture that functionally separates structural organization from correctability, internal coherence from truth, and conscious access from reachability.
  • Establishes explicit, falsifiable criteria under which specific model constructs should be retained, revised, merged, or retired across empirical comparisons.

Abstract

This preprint presents Coherent Field Architecture (CFA), a bounded open-systems framework for modeling how conscious meaning becomes registered, organized, stabilized, revised, captured, fragmented, and retransmitted under embodied, developmental, symbolic, social, environmental, and temporal constraints. CFA addresses the organizer-input identification problem: information available in an environment, input registered by an organism, material accessible for reflective inspection, and meaning ultimately organized from that material are not equivalent. The framework distinguishes biological integrity, physical coordination, aperture, organizational capacity, meaning-space, organizational resolution, resolution integrity, correction access, and correction ecology as provisional constructs for empirical testing and model comparison. The paper does not claim to solve the metaphysical origin of consciousness, identify a new physical force, validate a universal consciousness score, or present synthetic simulations as human empirical proof. Its contribution is a testable architecture for separating organization from correctability, coherence from truth, and access from reachability, while specifying conditions under which the constructs should be retained, revised, merged, or retired. This preprint is part of the broader Coherent Field Architecture research program. A supporting Zenodo repository contains companion manuscripts, protocols, measurement materials, simulations, code, reproducibility resources, metadata and file integrity records. Companion works include meaning-space hypothesis and resolution integrity, which are intended to be cited separately when those constructs are the primary focus.
