Hewlett-Packard (HP) officially launches a major research facility in India, headed up by Srinivasan Ramani.HP Labs India will focus on making low-cost Internet access possible, speech communication interfaces for computers, and new models for human-computer interaction.Based in Bangalore, the lab will focus on innovations relevant to all emerging economies, including India's, and will assist HP's initiatives to 'bridge the digital divide'.
