Abstract

The modification of cerium, formed from the normal, room-temperature modification under a pressure of 10 000 atm, has been cooled to 1. 25^ and tested for superconductivity. The nature of the state of the 4f electron in -cerium is discussed in relation to the absence of superconductivity.
