Abstract

Digital ecosystems and information technologies play an important role in the development of the state and ensuring the digital transformation of the economy and its industries. Information systems provide monitoring and control of the state of infrastructure, navigation facilities and the environment, allow timely detection and elimination of problems, as well as forecasting possible risks associated with the organization of interaction between business entities. The Northern Sea Route is of great importance for the economic development of the Russian Federation, as it connects the European part of the country with the Far East and opens up access to Arctic resources. The development of digital ecosystems contributes to the creation of new highly qualified jobs and attracting investments to a region that is strategically important for the Russian Federation. In this article, the authors consider initiatives aimed at creating a unifi ed platform for digital services of the Northern Sea Route and the federal state information system «Northern Delivery». Based on the results of the study, it was determined that the use of information technologies will contribute to solving the following problems of the Northern Sea Route: insufficient infrastructure, environmental problems related to the preservation of the «sensitive» ecosystem of the Arctic region, ensuring the stability of ship traffic and reducing the risks associated with the ice situation, increasing the economic profitability of transportation. The use of information technology will increase the attractiveness of the Northern Sea Route for business and will contribute to its sustainable development.
