Abstract

Professional Development is one of the beneficial programs of an individual to increase and improve his skills needed in the accomplishment of his professional responsibilities. Teachers, as one of the sought-after professions, participate in various professional development programs to continually adapt to the ever-changing trends and challenges in the education sector. In this article, it is discussed the importance of school as professional learning community in which teachers belong and serve to. Also, with the review of previously conducted research and literatures, enlisted are the key factors in which a professional development could be successful to anyone. The empirical statement that there is no “one-size-fits-all” professional development program was backed up by the key features of having a personal, individualized plan of professional development presented by these literatures.
