Abstract

In his diary, "My mom made me an existenialist", published in 2025, by Cartier Publishing House, Constantin Cheianu offers a generous space to memories through which the present interconnects with the past, redefining the self-image of the diaristic character in time and space. Namely, the combination of confessional discourse with the memorialistic one, allowed us to approach the text from the perspective of autobiographical memory, understood as a process of reconstruction of life events that facilitates understanding of the self . We followed both the content of the remembered episodes and the dynamics of traumatic memories in order to capture their effects on the self-image of the diaristic character.
