Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work-life balance and work environment on turnover intentions, with flexible work arrangements as an intervening variable in 100 Generation Z workers in Malang City. Generation Z has unique characteristics in the world of work, such as a preference for work-life balance and staying at work. The high level of turnover intention in this generation is a challenge for organizations in efforts to retain employees. This research uses quantitative methods with data collection techniques through questionnaires distributed to Generation Z workers in Malang City. The data were analyzed using the Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method to test the relationship between variables. The research results show that work-life balance and the work environment have a significant negative effect on turnover, which means that the better the work-life balance and work environment conditions, the lower the worker's intention to leave their job. In addition, flexible work arrangements are proven to be a mediating variable that strengthens the relationship between work-life balance and work environment on turnover, indicating that collaboration can be an effective strategy in retaining Generation Z employees .
