The paper deals with little known butterflies (Lepidoptera : Rhopalocera) of Little Andaman. Out of 33 species/subspecies described, 10 are from Pieridae, 3 from Danaidae, 1 from Satyridae, 5 from Nymphalidae, 13 from Lycaenidae and 1 from Hesperiidae. A rare Lycaenid Artipe eryx Linnaeus is collected after 70 years and no member of Papilionidae is sighted during the survey. The forest fauna is still rich in comparison to area under development.
