Abstract

Malnutrition in pregnant women will increase the risk of giving birth to babies with low birth weight (LBW), miscarriage, premature birth, the risk of bleeding before and or during labor which can cause death of the mother and baby (Central Bureau of Statistics, 2022). Efforts that can be made to increase the knowledge of pregnant women about balanced nutrition are through providing information or health education from health workers using aids or media, one of the media used is audiovisual media and leaflets. The purpose of this community service is to increase the knowledge of pregnant women about balanced nutrition using audiovisual media and leaflets in RW 08, Karang Anyar Village, Sawah Besar District, Central Jakarta. The method used in this community service activity is providing material about balanced nutrition to pregnant women using audiovisual media and leaflets. From the results of the analysis, the average pre-test was 63.00 with a standard deviation of 4.83 and the average post-test was 78.00 with a standard deviation of 9.18. There is a mean difference between the pre-test and post-test values of 15.00; The results of the statistical test obtained a p-value of 0.003. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the level of knowledge before and after providing education using audiovisuals and leaflets. Recommendations to Health Cadres are needed to help and monitor the condition of pregnant women and collaborate with the Community Health Centers in their area.
