Abstract

This article examines the transforming effects of Internet of Things (IOT) integration on warehouse management systems. By deploying network sensors in the warehouse environment, organizations can achieve unprecedented operational visibility and procedure customization. The architectural structure required for successful implementation covers physical sensing equipment, strong connectivity infrastructure, and sophisticated data processing capabilities. Benefits appear in several operating dimensions, including inventory accuracy, space use, and labor productivity. Despite the compelling benefits, significant implementation challenges persist, including data integration complications with heritage systems and scalability concerns. Artificial Intelligence Augmentation and Autonomous System Integration, such as emerging trends, promise to revolutionize warehouse operations. The integration of IOT technology with enterprise systems represents a strategic imperative for warehouse operators that receive a competitive advantage in the rapidly changing supply chain environment. The convergence of real-time data collection with advanced analytics capabilities enables active decisions rather than reactive reactions, fundamentally replacing traditional warehouse management paradigms. This change towards data-powered operations represents a significant development in logistics management, with the supply chain expanding into the ecosystem.
