Abstract

This study identifies mitigating vulnerability highlights on the concept of information security at the College of Education, Akwanga, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. It equally captures the roles of information security in tertiary institutions like College of Education Akwanga. The paper highlights the prevalent challenges or threats militating against information security in College of Education Akwanga and lastly, conclusion and recommendations or strategies for strengthening digital security were made, such as the need to develop and implement a formal information security policy in the institution and the need to also establish a cyber security unit within the ICT department. This will help in identifying and responding to cyber threats.
