Acceptance of the Use of Artificial Intelligence Applications and its role in Developing Human Resources Among Faculty Members: An Applied Study at a Training Institution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a key tool in improving work environments. This study aims to examine the level of acceptance among training faculty members towards using Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications, and to analyze the role of these applications on human resources development through improving training efficiency, enhancing trainer skills, and providing smart solutions that improve the learning process. The study also aims at investigating the factors influencing AI adoption and the challenges that may hinder its effective use in teaching and training environments. The research follows a descriptive analytical methodology, employing a questionnaire distributed to the study population of 112 trainers, with 62 valid responses collected. Statistical methods were used to analyze the data and assess AI usage in daily life and in training contexts, as well as evaluating influencing demographic factors such as age, field of specialization, and academic degree. Findings indicate a relatively high acceptance of AI use in daily life, contrasted by lower levels of use in the training processes. The study also identified several barriers to adoption, including limited technical skills, fear of job displacement, language limitations, and concerns over data privacy and accuracy. The study recommends strengthening the information technology infrastructure, offer training programs to equip trainers with AI competencies, and developing regulatory policies to encourage the integration of AI technologies into training environments, which will support sustainable development of human resources as well as improving the quality of the training process.
