Abstract

In today's digital age, smartphones have become an integral part of the lives of adolescents. Its role as a means of education, entertainment and social interaction is undeniable. But as smartphone use has increased, deep concerns are also emerging about its effects on adolescent mental health. Being constantly on the screen, craving for acceptance on social media and the glamour of the virtual world are deeply affecting the psychology of adolescents. Studies show that smartphone addiction can lead to anxiety, depression and self-esteem problems. Their uncontrolled use also leads to problems like lack of sleep, distraction and emotional instability. Although smartphones also have positive benets, it is necessary to motivate adolescents towards their judicious use; so that they can remain mentally healthy (Psychological problems) while maintaining digital balance.
