Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) stands as one of the most transformative technologies of our age, reshaping industries, economies, and daily life at an unprecedented pace. This paper provides a detailed academic analysis of AI's multifaceted impact, examining both its profound positive contributions and its significant potential drawbacks. We delve into AI's role in advancing healthcare, economic productivity, environmental sustainability, and scientific discovery, while simultaneously scrutinizing critical challenges such as job displacement, ethical dilemmas (bias, privacy, surveillance), security risks, the proliferation of misinformation, and potential existential threats.
