Addressing the Challenges of Growing Elderly Population: Maintenance and welfare of parents and senior citizens Act (2007)

In India, many widespread problems are typically faced by a developing country, especially the problem of population ageing. Medical advancement has led to Longevity of life, which leads to a rise in health expenses for long-term sicknesses due to a constant and steep rise in the value of living. The Indian legislature has legislated upon the same from time to time. This paper examines the constitutional provisions and the Welfare Act of 2007 for elderly people. The paper will try to analyse the impact of constitutional provisions and the “Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007”.
