Abstract

Anthracnose in cucumbers is caused by Colletotrichum orbiculare, has been a serious threat to cucumber production in Georgia since last three years. The disease can cause considerable yield losses both at the pre- and post-harvest stages. Symptoms on leaves appear yellowish to dark brown in color that often turn necrotic. Symptoms on fruit appear as sunken and round, black to orange-colored lesions with salmon-colored spores. This report evaluates the efficacy of conventional fungicides for the control of cucumber anthracnose in Georgia in 2024. Results from these trials will help advise cucumber growers in developing anthracnose management programs and manage post-harvest yield losses effectively.
