This paper analyzes medical discourse by identifying the functions and meanings of terms in various types of texts, examining specific semantic processes, and assessing the expressiveness of lexical units that have undergone terminologization. It also explores the interaction between medical language and other specialized fields. In other words, the enrichment of medical vocabulary is a complex process that involves both the assimilation of new terms and their correct usage.
