Key Points

  • 5-ATP-GO demonstrated a high adsorption capacity for heavy metals.
  • The central composite design optimized the adsorption process parameters.
  • Modified graphene oxide showed significant selectivity for cadmium, mercury, and arsenic.
  • Response surface methodology confirmed the effectiveness of the adsorption process.

Abstract

A GO-based nano-adsorbent was successfully modified with 5-amino-3(2-thienyl)pyrazole (5-ATP-GO). 5-ATP-GO showed high adsorption capacity and selectivity for Cd, Hg and As.
