The work examines the legal nature of the exclusive right that arises over protected intellectual property and emphasizes its special significance for the copyright holder. The possibilities of satisfying the interests of the copyright holder through the use of the exclusive right belonging to him are analyzed. The possibility of using certain methods of protection and selfdefense of exclusive rights is considered.
