Abstract

Our is the only planet known with such complex chemistry that give rise to life. Numerous evidence suggests that molecular complexity had already begun and developed when the Solar System was an embryo inside a cold molecular cloud. In this presentation, I will present the major advances in our comprehension of chemistry during those ancient eons, based on what we observe in the young solar-like planetary systems forming in the Suns vicinity today and our ability to understand them. I will also give an overview of the many challenges that remain to be overcome.
