Abstract

The purpose of the work is to determine the contribution of Ukrainian archivists to the development of theoretical and methodological principles of digitalization of archival genealogical research. The methodology is based on the use of general scientific and special methods of scientific research, which made it possible to analyze in detail the achievements of Ukrainian scientists in the field of standardization, classification and the use of information technologies in archival institutions for genealogical research. The literature review method allows you to get a comprehensive idea of the state of development of the problem of the introduction of information and communication technologies in archival institutions when conducting genealogical research. The method of objectivity, historicism and archival heuristics will allow to reveal the stages of development of genealogical studies. The scientific novelty of the work consists in the expansion of ideas and systematization of the work of Ukrainian researchers, regarding the practical application of information and communication technologies in the conduct of genealogical research. Conclusions. Modern developments are correlated with the updating of the state digitalization program, the management of archival affairs within the limits of digitalization, which will further bring the Ukrainian archival industry to a new level of development, widely introducing information technologies in all production processes. It was found that thanks to the active implementation of information technologies, genealogical resources are available on online platforms and social networks, and this, in turn, has a positive effect on the image and reputation of archival institutions as custodians of valuable historical and cultural heritage.
