Abstract

Bidirectional chargers are at the forefront of EV technology innovations, providing transformative solutions for energy management and grid integration. This overview highlights their crucial role in shaping sustainable transportation and energy systems. These chargers enable not only the charging of EV batteries but also the bi-directional flow of electricity between EVs and the grid. This capability optimizes energy use, enhances grid stability, and supports services like vehicle-to-grid (V2G) integration. This research aims to explore the performance and impact of an electric vehicle (EV) charger equipped with a controller on the EV battery when integrated into the grid.A bidirectional EV charging system is designed and simulated in MATLAB/Simulink to assess its functionality and performance. The primary focus is on the interaction between the charger and the grid, as well as its effects on the battery's voltage and current. The study combines theoretical analysis with simulation to address these questions. The power electronics control algorithm is examined through PLL systems to ensure precise synchronization with the grid, enhancing the system's dynamic performance and stability and total harmonic distortion (THD) analysis..
