Abstract

Indian rural banking entails establishing financial institutions with the aim of mitigating rural poverty. The Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank (KVG) is a leading Regional Rural Bank (RRB) in Karnataka that excels in providing agricultural and rural loans using a multi-agency approach. The KVG Bank is unparalleled in meeting the financial needs of farmers, merchants, rural craftsmen, professionals, the self-employed, contractors, and the general public. This article aims to evaluate the impact of the Karnataka Vocational Guidance (KVG) on the state of Karnataka. The study's findings indicate that the KVG Bank granted the highest number of loans to the agriculture industry among all financial institutions. This allowed the bank to have a substantial impact on the growth of the agricultural sector in rural areas. Furthermore, it has been observed that the affiliated companies of the bank receive a negligible portion of the priority sector loans provided by the bank.
